* It’s wedding week and the countdown is verymuch here.
* Francesca Lia Block will be in Boston in June and I am lucky to not only see her, but go hopefully go to a workshop of hers, also.
* Cayenne pepper in tomato soup.
* I’m going to miss the American Idol finale tonight. The top three is amazing, but I’m hoping Lauren Alaina wins.
* Having a dance party in the bar waiting for lanes (that we never got).
* Stick on mustaches.
* Pop rocks and pixi sticks.
* Gummy Beartini drinks
* “Can you make me a copy of this CD?”
* my little windowsill garden
* Ben driving all the way to pick me up and bring me to the mall to get Celestial.
* Sarah Dessen’s new book What Happened to Goodbye
I have many more things I could add to this list, but I’m going to be late for work if I keep going.
<3
<3 Sleeping in. I don’t work until noon today. Pleasant!
<3 being productive. By the time I get home after work, I usually don’t have the energy to be productive, so today I don’t have to work until noon. It’s working out well for me right now.
<3 Simply Orange Juice. I’ve been drinking this juice nonstop for the past few weeks and it’s by far my favorite. It’s 100% juice, not from concentrate with no added sugar. Their other flavors are great, but some of them (like the lemonade flavors) do have added sugar. Okay, I guess it makes sense for Lemonade to have some sugar in it…
<3. Celestial, my moisturizer, which is almost gone. Sad, sad. (This mostly means I’ll have to bribe someone to go to Lush with me sometime in the future…)
<3 Writing, blogging and journaling. I’ll be honest, it’s been a while, but I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things. So hopefully it’ll be better soon.
<3. Chips & salsa and burritos and margaritas… it’s Cinco De Mayo, guys!
<3. Walking on my lunch break. This weather has been amazing, and even though I only walk around a huge parking lot because the road where I work is scary busy, it’s nice to get outside and soak up some vitamin D and move around for a while.
<3 baby spinach
I’m a little bit boring this week, but I’m okay with that. Sometimes simplicity wins over.
What do you love this week?
Because… why not… here are a few awesome things about today…
Mobbed. This TV show is awesome. I only heard about it last night on American Idol, but I love the idea of Flash Mobs so much, I really want to be in one. So why not have an entire television show dedicated to one?
My friend Miranda (of The Good Groupie) left me a message on Facebook that made me smile. Also, read her TILT list for this week here.
So I want/need to start doing TILT too so I was searching for the image when this AWESOME mug popped up that said “Cake Nash” on it – pic of a red hair on a cupcake. I went “OMG, I have to show Ivy!” only to click the link and be taken to YOUR BLOG.
Paul didn’t get kicked off American Idol tonight. (I swore not to watch it this year… what happened? Oh well…) Oh, and also, I love his suit.
I bought Tangled today. Haven’t watched it yet, though.
It’s snowing today. I do not love that. But I learned that 25 years ago today it was 90 degrees in MA. That’s pretty insane. (Spring, please come NOW). Also, for anyone who doesn’t remember, in 1997 we had a snow day April 1st. I do remember that.
Oh and here are some awesome flash mobs you may enjoy:
& because I love this and it inspired part of Jim & Pam’s wedding in The Office
blacklights
Thermacare Heat Wraps
Spending the first day of spring with people I like
Drinking Marylou’s Iced Coffee all weekend (mostly Peanut Butter Wonderful…)
Reading blogs and collecting links to someday share
I bought this dress. It looks cute. (Pictures probably after this weekend).
Vitamin Water Zero Mega- C
Catching up on Glee, finally.
Chocolate. I don’t even need to be specific about it. Just chocolate.
Wearing flowers in my hair to celebrate spring.
My awesome new sunglasses with a bow on the right side.

This is the food edition because, hey why not? And food is great.
Pizza – especially mushroom and buffalo chicken (but not together). Or just plain cheese with red pepper flakes. And garlic salt. Brick over style, bar style, personal size, extra large, on english muffins…
Cupcakes – mainly because they look so cute. Also because they’re pretty tasty (especially when purchased from a cupcake bakery).
Indian food – Vegetable Samosas are my favourite but I also love vegetable pakoras, any flavour of naan that doesn’t have lamb or something yucky in it, palak paneer, malai koftka, panner (or chicken) tikka masala. Let’s not forget papadums and mango lassi.
Pad thai.
Tofu fritters – I’ve only ever seen them sold at the Chattabox in Bridgewater but we are in love.
Baked Lays – I’m always craving them lately.
Avocado – I can’t eat them. My mouth gets itchy and my chest hurts and I’m afraid of anaphylactic shock but oh my god I’m regularly sad about the fact that I can’t eat them anymore. Because I love them. On toast. In turkey sandwiches. In my guacamole. Alone.
Clam chowder – read about my favourite here.
Lobster – in butter. As a “salad”, grilled, boiled, plain. In my mouth, yes please.
Pumpkin soup with garam masala. My mom makes this in huge batches and I eat until it’s gone every time.
Berries – raspberries and strawberries, especially. Frozen. Fresh. In smoothies. On top of ice cream, heated in oatmeal, mixed into yogurt…
Mushrooms – stuffed, diced, grilled on pizza, in tomato sauce, alone with olive oil and garlic. I’ll try mushrooms in any form (uh probably except the ‘shroom form). Substitute a portabella for a burger or throw some in pasta. Lately my favourite is grilled with mozzarella cheese and basil, maybe some grilled onions, too. Panini-style. yum. yum.
What foods are you loving today?
The weekly love list.
<3. My friends are all absolutely amazing. I can’t even express how grateful I am to have all of the people in my life who are a part of it right now. Anything from Wednesday night sushi dates to trying on dresses to writing letters to reading what I write. You guys are all more awesome than you realize.
<3. Crazy Maki — minus the avocado, unfortunately because I am allergic.
<3. Zumba — it feels great to move.
<3. I’ve lost 16.2 pounds. In the grand scheme of things that doesn’t seem like a whole lot, but it’s more than 5% of my original bodyweight and I feel better every day.
<3. Weight Watchers mini bars. They’re lifesavers.
<3. SUPPLEMENTS. If you could see the amount of bottles that are littered around my desk right now… here’s a quick list to give you an idea: Multi Vitamin, Acidophilus Pearls, B12, D-3, Spirulina, Lactaid, Cranberry pills, etc. etc. If only I could remember to take them, or some of them, daily…
<3. Working on writing for real. Loving when I story seems to actually be developing.
<3. Compliments on my eyes. And my laugh.

It’s my weekly love-list. Inspired by Gala Darling. Recognizing things you love is guaranteed to make you feel good.
♥ March
♥ My bridesmaids dress for Shaylin’s wedding.
♥ Convincing Kristen to try Zumba with me
♥ Autumn butternut and goat cheese pizza
♥ Adding movies to my Netflix queue
♥ New hair cut! (And my awesome hairdresser, Ashley who’s also my brother’s friend…)

♥ A four pound weight loss (even though it was mostly countering the gain from last week)
♥ Lemony Flutter by Lush. It’s great on my feet. And lips. And cuticles.
♥ Texts in the AM hoping I’m having a great day
♥ Reading. (But this is always a given anyway…)
♥ The fact that it isn’t DARK outside when I leave work at 5:15
(wehearit)
♥ Recommending books to people, it makes me so happy, especially since 90% of the books I read are Young Adult and that clearly isn’t everyones favourite.
What do you love today?
xo,
Melanie Kristy
*long weekends
*giving out mix cds
* “are you watching porn?” “I don’t think they play that on the Disney Channel…”
*my new netbook, it’s cute and pink and I can bring it to Borders and type like I am now and the battery life is UP TO EIGHT HOURS
*reading reviews on Lush’s website and plotting out what to buy next.
* looking at craft stores with my mom
* Black Cherry Chip Frozen Yogurt from Peaceful Meadows
* countdowns until spring (33 more days!)
*listening to The Format and Ingram Hill
* Brie with bread. Or fruit . or pie crust. Or by itself, really…
♥I’m completely aware that it’s Saturday, and not Thursday, but I had this post lined up for Thursday and I never had the chance to type it. I want to get back into writing Things I Love Thursday posts because it’s a way to focus on the good things in life, even if it’s for only one day a week. When I bought my daily planner earlier this year I started making things I love lists in every single day, filling up the pages that weren’t already scribbled on with my love list. Some circumstances made it so that I could not do that (while I was at work) anymore, and I lost the habit but I hope to get back into it today.
For anyone who is new to the concept of “Things I Love Thursday”, it was started by Gala Darling years ago as a way to express your love list. Gala still makes them, and other bloggers do the same.
♥ eating fruit for breakfast — I struggle with breakfast daily. Sometimes whatever I eat makes me feel like crap, but even on those days, if I eat fruit I’m still feeling alright ![]()
♥ Blueberry scented nail polish — This is a great pick me up to remind you to slow down. It makes me smile. I might have to invest in more scented nail polish (the scent lasts about a day or two).
♥ portabello mushroom sandwiches are amazing.
♥ Red Velvet Cupcake Wine

♥ Pushing Daisies marathons with Krista
♥ Zumba
♥ Finding ways to inspire myself
